Now you can conveniently view connected 8seats users and other team members in your directory, helping you to jump into conversations faster. We’ve also added the ability to delete pending invited users – in case you invited somebody by mistake, or need to free up space on your Table.

Introducing Teams! You’ll now also see the team you belong to on the main menu if you’re on an 8seats Business plan. We’ve upgraded Tables with a new feature that allows you to message everyone you invite immediately. And yes, that even means you can message people before they have joined 8seats. Any messages you send will be ready and waiting for them once they’ve joined your Table. We’ve also made some optimisations and squashed some bugs.
Table members can now be sent messages as soon as they have been invited to the Table, this includes both invitees who are who haven’t joined 8seats as well as existing users.
When starting a Quick Chat, you can now invite someone new as well as from your Directory.
The app now shows a message if you are attempting to open the app without an active internet connection.
Fixed an issue where the profile could sometimes not be saved correctly on account creation.

We’ve made a quick update to the app. If messages are sent while you don’t have an active internet connection, they are stored on your device and sent once you have an internet connection again. These saved messages are now still sent – even if you have signed in and out of your account.
Messages that are attempted to send without an internet connection are now still sent once an active internet connection becomes available, even if you have signed in and out of your account.
The iOS app icon badge is now shown if the are unread messages.

We’ve increased the number of Tables and Rooms you can create, and upped the maximum size of Quick Chats to 8. Plus, you can also now easily share messages to other apps, or copy message text to the clipboard. Simply long hold on a message to see these new options.

We’ve made some significant performance enhancements for conversations across Tables, Rooms and Quick Chats. We’ve resolved some core issues where conversations could fail to load, and have applied better management of larger numbers of messages and conversations. The messaging experience is now faster and snappier with less delays in loading messages. We’ve also fixed a number of bugs, made some small improvements to some features – plus added a bunch of new background images for you to customise your Tables and Rooms.

We’ve fixed some bugs and made a some quick improvements to the chat view. We have fixed some issues that occurred on Android devices, including missing notifications and bugs with taking photos. This version also enhances the experience for invites, including adding better ways to share your invite links with others.

Tables offer natural conversations for small and effective teams of up to 8 people. Connect and collaborate faster, powered by our unique dynamic chat system. Simply tap or swipe to get to any conversation or sub-group fast, no more endless lists of groups!
While Tables are perfect for small and effective team collaboration, Rooms are there for when you need to communicate with more than 8 people. It supports up to 1,000 members, with support for even bigger groups coming in the future.
Quick Chats give you all the simplicity and speed of email combined with the power of dynamic chat. You can create as many Quick Chats as you need, they're best for small groups and short, sharp tasks – to quickly communicate with your team and get it (whatever it is!) done.
We added 256-bit encryption to protect your privacy. Messages and personally identifiable information is now stored encrypted at rest on our servers. This is on top of the existing encryption of all 8seats data in transit.
We’ve made a number of enhancements to the invites experience:
You can now view all of your received & sent invites for Tables and Rooms. Access these by simply tapping on the envelope icon in the top right corner on any of the main screens. You also access your invites from the main menu.
You can now accept or decline invites that you receive for Tables and Rooms.
It’s now easy to choose people to invite from your directory. Plus you can also invite multiple people in one go.
Known Issues
There are a number of issues we are aware of in the current version of the app. The team are working fast to resolve these as soon as possible, to ensure your 8seats experience will be a great one.
(High priority) Push notifications are not being received for some users on the Staging Environment.
(High priority) The app can be slow to load initially for user with large accounts (many messages).
