### Should I start a Table, Room or use a DM?

Here's a quick guide to point you in the right direction:

### Tables - Your everyday team chat

**Tables are the heart of 8seats. Choose a Table for a team or group of people that you work with frequently.** It might be your team at work or a group of people who are focused on a project. Tables enable you to have one place for all your team and project conversations.

### Rooms - Broadcast to thousands, collaborate with ease

**Choose a Room when you have a larger group of people.** Did you know that a Room on 8seats can support up to 10,000 members? Rooms are a good choice for an all-team chat, company announcements, policies and procedures or a kudos and congratulations Room.

### **DMs - Fast, secure one-on-one communication**

**Just need to send a quick message? A DM could be your best bet.** DMs can be given subject lines, which is handy to keep things organised and find them again later. A good guide to remember is that if you would normally have sent an email – a DM on 8seats is a better choice.

### Desktop - A productivity game changer

**Enter power mode on desktop with multi-columns.** On the web version of 8seats for desktop, you can open extra chat columns by clicking the + button on the right hand side. You can simultaneously view different conversations on the same Table, or different Tables, Rooms and DMs – a powerful boost to your workflow.
